When off the shelf products don’t work, we can help to provide simple and elegant solutions.
We understand, we transform, we move uncertainty out of your way.
For half a century computers have had the potential to make our work and lives easier. Yet with the release of each new CPU and OS, that dream has been crippled by the entropy of complexity.
Firestitch’s passion is to understand the chaos of real life and form simple and elegant solutions that leverage technology to enable teams to grow.

Always aim to be on time, on budget, and meet your every expectation.
Deliver custom application solutions that check every pain point off your list.
Be your long-term partner in identifying roadblocks and providing continual insights.
Over the years we’ve helped our clients navigate their way through their software development projects. Many of our clients have started out with the same questions.
If you can’t find what you’re looking for here, let’s connect and we’ll do our best to answer your questions.
Custom software is a strategic decision that enables you to differentiate your businesses' product and operations. This creates unique opportunities for profitability.
You should choose custom software if there is no off-the-shelf solution that will meet your requirements or if the long term cost of the off-the-shelf solution is higher than the cost of a custom solution.
We take a phased approach to development and will help to define your product road map. The release of the MVP will depend on the scope of features, but it's possible to get phase 1 released within 3-6 months.
We use industry best practices for encryption, authentication, data storage and access control.
Prior to any development we perform Solutions Design to ensure clarity amongst all stakeholders and prepare an estimate as a range of hours.
When the designs are approved, they are translated into technical specifications and then developer tasks.
When development is complete, we start with unit testing and then regression testing on the dev instance.
When all tests cases have passed, the staging instance is updated with the new codebase and goes through the user acceptance testing phase.
When approved, we schedule a release based on minimal end user impact. In the release the production instance is updated with the new codebase.
Initial development of a fully custom software application can range from $80k - $200k.

Since 2009, Firestitch has developed proprietary and third-party scripts collectively called "The Platform." This Platform allows for the rapid development of high-quality, secure, feature-rich applications.
The Platform is provided to clients under an open-source MIT License, granting them the freedom to use, modify, copy, and resell the software with minimal limitations. Clients have the option to engage Firestitch for enhancements or maintenance but are not obligated to do so.
The Platform consists of two separate codebases: "The Framework" and "The Application Jumpstart."
When starting a project the application is created and includes the framework and copied version of the application jumpstart. This is referred to as “The Application” and contains all intellectual property unique to a specific client project.
Firestitch may view, modify, and store The Application for development and maintenance purposes. Clients can revoke this license at any time, leading to the removal of their application from Firestitch's systems.
In summary, Firestitch provides a flexible licensing structure for its intellectual property, allowing clients to leverage its resources while maintaining control over their specific projects and customizations.

Firestitch has developed tools and processes to make remote work successful, thereby facilitating productive virtual collaboration.
As with all of our patterns and standards, our team focuses on productivity and efficiency, not logistics. However, we can adapt to our client’s needs and offer in-person options within the GTA if required.
